Residential Real Estate Paralegal

About the Role:
We are currently seeking a detail-oriented, highly organized Residential Real Estate Paralegal to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in residential real estate law and demonstrate proficiency in managing closings, reviewing titles, and preparing comprehensive documentation from contract to post-closing. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated legal professional who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

As a Residential Real Estate Paralegal, you will serve as a key liaison between attorneys, clients, lenders, title companies, and real estate agents to ensure smooth and timely closings. You will be responsible for managing real estate transactions, preparing and reviewing legal documents, and ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage seller and buyer purchase and sale contract files
  • Prepare and review purchase agreements, deeds, mortgages, title commitments, closing disclosures, and settlement statements (HUD-1).
  • Coordinate and schedule residential real estate closings with buyers, sellers, attorneys, lenders, title companies, and realtors.
  • Conduct title and survey reviews; identify and resolve title issues.
  • Communicate with clients and third parties to gather documentation and resolve outstanding issues.
  • Monitor deadlines and manage transaction timelines from contract execution to final closing.
  • Ensure all closing documents are accurate, complete, and compliant with local and state laws.
  • Utilize closing and title software such as Qualia, SoftPro, RamQuest, or similar systems.
  • Maintain organized files and records throughout the closing process and beyond.
  • Draft and file post-closing documents as needed, including release documents and final settlement documentation.
  • Serve as a Notary Public, witnessing and notarizing documents as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in residential real estate transactions or a related legal field.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate laws, title insurance, and closing procedures.
  • Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines in a high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Professional and courteous client service demeanor.
